1. What key issue(s) / topic(s) does your party stands for, and why are these important?

There are several issues that our party stands for. However, in the 2019 election, our platform focuses on three main issues: addressing the climate crisis, reducing poverty, and improving health care.

Climate change is one of the most pressing issues of our time, and we must act immediately if we are to have any chance at mitigating the worst effects of climate change. Manitobans are looking for a party they can trust to take action, and we have stepped up to be that party.

We have also chosen to focus on poverty, because it is important to promote equity, address social marginalization, and expand opportunities for people to escape the cycle of poverty. Investing in people pays huge dividends in long-term cost savings for health care, justice, and social services. Ending poverty is good for individuals, and good for all Manitobans.

Lastly, we have chosen to focus on health care, because it is important to us to protect Manitobans’ physical and mental health. A fair and equitable society is one in which everyone has access to quality health care services, and we will work with communities and front line workers in order to ensure that this is the case.

3. What makes your party different from other political parties?

Greens do politics differently. We hold ourselves and other politicians to the highest standards of decency, transparency and honesty, and because of that we have earned people’s trust.

We live in a pivotal time, in which urgent action must be taken to protect both the people and the planet from mounting social and environmental pressures. Greens are ready to tackle even the most difficult problems. We are the only party that both has a bold vision for social and environmental change, but offer real, effective long-term solutions.
