2019 Manitoba Election

1. Why did you decide to run in the Manitoba election?

I joined the Manitoba Liberal Party last year after being very disappointed and frustrated by our current two party system.  Half our population does not vote and many voters I have talked to honestly believe that regardless of whom you vote for nothing will ever change.   

Many have lost hope and have simply given up.  Which unfortunately creates a trap of their own doing.  By not having faith and a belief that things can improve, they never will.  I joined this election to show voters that together we can make a difference and that they are not alone.  

I joined to remind people that they are the most important thing in this election and their ability to vote is not something that should be ignored. We have the ability in this country to change our government, if we don’t like the direction it is going. So don’t throw that privilege away.  It is one of the only things in life that makes us all equal.

I am running as a Candidate because I believe I can make a difference.  I believe I can change things.  I need to change things for the future of my family and yours. 

2. Why should a voter consider electing you to represent them?

As a former Civil Servant in the Department of Finance, I took an oath to put the needs of the Province and its citizens above my own personal desires in any conflict of interest.

However, when I discovered that a few individuals had broken that oath. I took action to expose their misappropriations only to be laid off by the same people I was investigating.

I have proven to myself and to my family that I will take action when required to do the right thing.

That I will fight against those that desire to abuse their privileges and take things that do not belong to them but actually belong to you.

You need people in Government that are willing to be honest and expose corruption.  You need people that will make the hard decisions and that you can trust with your finances.

That is why you should vote for me.

3. What key issue(s) / topic(s) will you stand for in your role as MLA, and why are these important to you?

• Environment – We cannot wait any longer to make changes to how we are consuming our resources. With two small children I have an obligation to not leave them to a world where they have no choices to make.
• Jobs – We need to grow our economy and get people off or EIA. We cannot cut our way out of debt. We need to have more revenues and create more jobs. So people can make a life and a home here. It is important to me because I understand how difficult a job loss can be.
• Education – we have some of the worst education scores in Canada. Investing in our youth and educators is one of the biggest returns on investment a society can have. A good education is the foundation for a successful life.
• Healthcare – our system is broken and is not getting better. We need to finally start listening to what the employees in our Health Care system are telling us. That they can no longer provide the dignity of care that they are trained to do.

4. Do you have any other comments regarding your candidacy?

Most Manitobans are incredibly undecided this election. In 2016 many of us voted for the PC government because we were angry at the prior NDP government and their mismanagement and doubling of our debt.

However, you have options now that you really did not have in 2016. If you want real change you have to stop repeating the same behaviour and vote for me and the Manitoba Liberal Party.

The PC and NDP Party’s have had two decades of running this province. You know what they bring to the table and who they are. They are not going to change no matter how much they sweet talk you during this election.

It’s time to vote Liberal.  I am ready to make a difference.  Are you?
