Kristin Lauhn-Jensen - Tuxedo
1. Why did you decide to run in the Manitoba election?
I want to help the Green Party continue to make strides forward across the Canadian landscape, to work towards an economy that helps people and the planet.
2. Why should a voter consider electing you to represent them?
I have been personally committed for decades to the environmental issues for which the Green Party stands, and work hard to align my choices and lifestyle with my environmental values. By sending me to the legislature in 2019, voters in Tuxedo will get a strong voice for action on climate change, social justice and a sustainable economy.
3. What key issue(s) / topic(s) will you stand for in your role as MLA, and why are these important to you?
Finding ways to make the economy align with ensuring the health of our country and our planet is hugely important to me. I want to protect our natural ecosystems that sustain life, and are a vital part of the provincial infrastructure that protects us from flooding, mitigates climate change, and sustains our economy. I am very keen on reducing the pollution that is destroying Lake Winnipeg, and finding ways to reduce plastic and other waste that is choking our planet. Animal welfare issues are also very important to me.
