CBC Manitoba - After Manitoba's former Indigenous and northern relations minister rejected an appointment to an important committee, officials from the premier's office are blaming the whole saga on an administrative error. Clarke said she was contacted by the secretary of the Treasury Board that day, and they congratulated her and requested a meeting. When asked earlier this week about Clarke's appointment to Treasury Board, Pallister's director of media relations refused to divulge any information, issuing only a brief statement. Treasury Board is a committee made up of the finance minister, appointed cabinet ministers and backbench MLAs. Clarke was previously appointed to Treasury Board in August 2017 and served for a year before she was shuffled out.

Spot starter Eric Lauer allowed one run over six innings and tied the game with a third-inning homer for the Brewers.

CANADIENS 3, MAPLE LEAFS 2, OTMONTREAL (AP) — Cole Caufield scored at 4:43 of overtime and Montreal beat Toronto. The rookie took a pass from Jeff Petry and wired home his second NHL goal — and second OT winner in two games. Anton Khudobin allowed four goals on 15 shots before being replaced by Jake Oettinger early in the second period.
