1. Why did you decide to run in the Manitoba election?
I’m ready to represent my neighbours. Not one of the other candidates lives in our constituency and I feel true, unbridled representation is key to citizen control of our governments. The Greens have got that and most everything in their platform right.
2. Why should a voter consider electing you to represent them?
I am in touch with our communities, have experience working on many boards locally and provincially. I am able to fully and freely represent our constituency. We have a great opportunity in this election to get two or three Green MLAs who can exert a very positive influence in minority government.
3. What key issue(s) / topic(s) will you stand for in your role as MLA, and why are these important to you?
Respectful municipal – provincial relations so we can get health care services and infrastructure projects happening as our local communities need them to happen. Also improved Indigenous – provincial relations happening so that reconciliation processes are prioritized to benefit us all. And, creating greater incentives to help us make changes toward improving how we can live with natural systems.
4. Do you have any other comments regarding your candidacy?
The rural area I wish to represent gets little attention from the province. Partly this is due to our tendency to vote for a Conservative MLA come hell or high water. I believe we will get attention once we vote differently. I’m ready to lead that difference.
Also, the Greens will push hard for Electoral Reform to ensure our individual votes count toward creating more responsive governments for future generations.

The Argos solidified their quarterback corps prior to free agency, re-signing McLoed-Bethel Thompson and adding former Winnipeg starter Matt Nichols. LionsGM Ed Hervey had many needs entering free agency with B.C. Calgary StampedersRarely a player on the first day of free agency in previous years, president/GM John Hufnagel addressed his needs early, signing five players alone Tuesday. Before free agency, the GM extended Canadian offensive lineman David Beard and starting quarterback Trevor Harris.

Jan. 20 – Bombers sign American defensive end Justin Alexandre and American linebacker Dylan Donahue. Jan. 20 – Bombers re-sign American defensive back Nick Taylor, while also adding American defensive end Alex McCalister. Jan. 27 – Bombers sign quarterback Zach Collaros to a two-year contract. It’s a well-deserved promotion for Young, who played a pivotal role in building an impressive Bombers defensive group in 2019.
