Questionnaire Response

Tom Lindsey - Flin Flon

1. Why did you decide to run in the Manitoba election?

I chose to run again because we must stop Brian Pallister from destroying our province. I have a long history of standing up for people who did not have a voice. It has been a honour to represent the people of this constituency for the last three years. We need strong voices from the North and I have been that voice, whether it was standing up for Churchill when to rail line was down or Thompson when jobs were being lost. The respective Liberal and Conservative MLAs remained silent.  I have been a strong voice for the North while in opposition and look forward to being an even stronger voice in government, after this election.

2. Why should a voter consider electing you to represent them?

I have represented people in this constituency for the last three years and look forward to continuing to advocate on their behalf going forward. PC and Liberal MLAs have remained silent about issues in the North, I have not and will not. Health Care is the number one issue in our constituency and Brian Pallister and the PCs have devastated care for people in the North. Tom Lindsey and the NDP  stand in opposition to the cuts we have seen.  We will not privatize Lifeflight, we will restore Northern Patient Transportation to what it was intended to be. Infrastructure spending has been slashed under this government and we drive on the results everyday.

3. What key issue(s) / topic(s) will you stand for in your role as MLA, and why are these important to you?

Healthcare: Lifeflight, NPTP, Obstetrics, Doctors, expanded services

Infrastructure: Roads, Cell Service, Internet

Jobs: Responsible Mining, Infrastructure,

Education: We cannot afford the cuts we have seen in Health care to happen in education.

4. Do you have any other comments regarding your candidacy?

A vote for Tom Lindsey is a vote for our future. I will continue to be a strong voice for the North. Brian Pallister and the Conservatives only represent their wealthy friends while Tom Lindsey and the NDP Stand for All of Us
