1. Why did you decide to run in the Manitoba election?

Manitoba needs new ideas to help everyone achieve their life goals.  In my career as a health care professional, community volunteer and leader I have seen many people held back by barriers that can be overcome with modest amounts of help.  I support the ” rising tide raises all boats” approach of development of our people, communities and province.

2. Why should a voter consider electing you to represent them?

When Manitoba Liberals say we have a plan, we do.

Unlike other parties, the Manitoba Liberal Party has been making detailed policy announcements for months. Simply put, we try to be guided by “the campsite rule” –  when you arrive at a campsite, try to leave it better than you found it. It’s a simple idea with a lot of applications whether it’s reconciliation, jobs, health care, education, or our environment – and a new way forward for Manitoba.

3. What key issue(s) / topic(s) will you stand for in your role as MLA, and why are these important to you?

In no particular order,  I have heard these topics mentioned at the door:

• Healthcare, including mental health, and substance dependency (eg. the meth crisis)
• Support for seniors
• Climate change, the environment
• Education
• Childcare
• Economic Growth, jobs, fair taxation
• Community Safety
• Support for new Canadians, attracting newcomers to our province.

The Manitoba Liberal Party has progressive, thoughtful and detailed approaches to these and many other issues.

4. Do you have any other comments regarding your candidacy?

I have extensive experience in public service which has prepared me to represent the people of Riel well.
