Questionnaire Response
Mayra Dubon - Elmwood
1. Why did you decide to run in the Manitoba election?
I feel that Elmwood is underrepresented and wanted to take the opportunity to continue serving this community from a different platform.
2. Why should a voter consider electing you to represent them?
It is time that our residents choose change. I have lived, served, worked in Elmwood and I am familiar with many of the issued affecting this area.
3. What key issue(s) / topic(s) will you stand for in your role as MLA, and why are these important to you?
Affordable housing and care for our seniors.
Business development to attract investors that will create jobs in the community.
Safe and secure streets for everyone.
4. Do you have any other comments regarding your candidacy?
This is a tremendous opportunity to represent Elmwood, and I deeply value the chance to participate in our democratic process. I was born in a country where, at present time, running for office could endanger the lives of you and your family.
I want constituents to know that I understand our province’s challenges, and I want to be part of a team that will help build a better future for all Manitobans. I arrived in Canada with nothing to my name. I know the struggles of being unemployed, not having enough money to buy medicine and the worry and struggle of trying to stretch every dollar to cover all our bills at the end of the month. I will be a strong voice for Elmwood so that we can find solutions to move this community forward, together!
