Taking positive behaviour/anti-bullying message to schools

Winnipeg Sun - Now in its eighth year, the Winnipeg Police Association’s Cool 2Be Kind positive behaviour/anti-bullying initiative is having an impact being felt in schools and playgrounds across the city, even in small ways and simple gestures. “It’s just something that we do.”The Cool 2Be Kind campaign helps teach students in Grades K-8 the value of being kind to others and making positive choices in school and in life. Students and educators are invited to submit a Kindness project proposal for their school to http://www.cool2bekind.ca with the opportunity to receive $500 in funding to see their project come to life. The deadline for Kindness project submissions is Dec. 31. “It was an initiative by the Winnipeg Police Association to be a positive role model to get a positive message across you shouldn’t be a bully,” said WPA President Maurice Sabourin.

The following MLAs retain their current legislative responsibilities:• Ian Wishart (MLA for Portage la Prairie) – legislative assistant to the Minister of Education;• Andrew Smith (MLA for Lagimodiere) – legislative assistant to the Minister of Sport, Culture and Heritage; and• Janice Morley-Lecomte (MLA for Seine River) – legislative assistant to the Minister of Families.

Les bureaux de scrutin par anticipation seront ouverts de 8 h à 20 h, du lundi au samedi, et le dimanche, de midi à 18 h.Les électeurs peuvent se présenter dans le bureau de vote par anticipation de leur choix. Lors du vote :Afin de pouvoir exercer leur droit, les électeurs devront présenter une pièce d’identité délivrée par le gouvernement du Manitoba ou du Canada qui comporte leur nom, leur adresse et une photo.
